She is an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts London, and her work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in the UK, Europe, and Asia, including her 2025 solo exhibition, \u201cAnxiety is a Red Monkey,\u201d at the Doctoral School, University of the Arts London. As an invited artist speaker at Cartoon County, Brighton, she delivered a talk on visualising mental illness in comics. Her self-published picturebooks on anxiety disorders\u2014Befriending the Red Monkey and The Solitary Island with the Red Monkey\u2014were sold by GOSH! Comics and are acquired by both the UAL Library and the Wellcome Library. She also organised the \u201cDraw Your Own Monster\u201d workshop for Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2023, combining mindfulness and character design to support emotional expression.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u73de\u767d\u7684\u7cfb\u5217\u63d2\u753b\u2014\u2014\u300a\u9003\u79bb\u4eba\u7fa4\u300b\u3001\u300a\u5c40\u5916\u4eba\u300b\u4e0e\u300a\u7126\u8651\u4e4b\u6d6a\u300b\uff0c\u6e90\u81ea\u7ed8\u672c\u300a\u7ea2\u7334\u5b50\u7684\u5b64\u5c9b\u300b\uff082023\uff09\u3002\u4ed6\u4ee5\u201c\u5b64\u5c9b\u201d\u4e0e\u201c\u7ea2\u7334\u5b50\u201d\u4e3a\u6838\u5fc3\u610f\u8c61\uff0c\u5c06\u758f\u79bb\u3001\u7126\u8651\u4ee5\u53ca\u5bfb\u627e\u5185\u5728\u5e73\u8861\u7684\u65e0\u58f0\u6323\u624e\u5177\u8c61\u5316\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u5728\u300a\u9003\u79bb\u4eba\u7fa4\u300b\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e2a\u4f53\u4ece\u538b\u5012\u6027\u7684\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u62bd\u79bb\uff0c\u8c61\u5f81\u7740\u5728\u8fc7\u5ea6\u523a\u6fc0\u7684\u4e16\u754c\u91cc\u5bf9\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u4fee\u590d\u4e0e\u81ea\u6211\u4fdd\u62a4\u7684\u6e34\u6c42\u3002\u300a\u5c40\u5916\u4eba\u300b\u5219\u6355\u6349\u4e86\u90a3\u79cd\u8eab\u5904\u95f9\u5e02\u5374\u65e0\u5904\u5f52\u4f9d\u7684\u65ad\u88c2\u611f\uff0c\u5f3a\u8c03\u4e86\u758f\u79bb\u72b6\u6001\u4e0b\u5bf9\u8054\u7ed3\u7684\u5f92\u52b3\u8ffd\u5bfb\u3002\u800c\u5728\u300a\u7126\u8651\u7684\u6d77\u6d6a\u300b\u91cc\uff0c\u7ffb\u6d8c\u7684\u5de8\u6d6a\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u538b\u529b\u7684\u5316\u8eab\uff0c\u63cf\u7ed8\u51fa\u90a3\u79cd\u5468\u800c\u590d\u59cb\u3001\u4e0d\u65ad\u51b2\u5237\u4e2a\u4f53\u7684\u5fc3\u7406\u52a8\u8361\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4f5c\u54c1\u7efc\u5408\u8fd0\u7528\u4e86\u6c34\u5f69\u3001\u5f69\u8272\u94c5\u7b14\u3001\u70ad\u7b14\u4e0e\u5355\u7248\u62d3\u5370\uff0c\u63ed\u793a\u4e86\u793e\u4ea4\u7126\u8651\u8005\u9690\u85cf\u5728\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\u8868\u8c61\u4e0b\u7684\u8106\u5f31\u77ac\u95f4\u3002\u8fd9\u4e0d\u4ec5\u662f\u5bf9\u4e2a\u4f53\u72b6\u6001\u7684\u7ec6\u81f4\u4e34\u6479\uff0c\u66f4\u662f\u5bf9\u5f53\u4ee3\u60c5\u611f\u7ecf\u9a8c\u7684\u4e00\u6b21\u9759\u9ed8\u56de\u54cd\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luo Bai\u2019s illustrated series\u2014<em>Escaping the Crowd<\/em>, <em>The Outsider<\/em>, and <em>The Waves of Anxiety<\/em>\u2014is developed from the picture book <em>The Island of the Red Monkey<\/em> (2023). Centred on the recurring motifs of the \u201cisland\u201d and the \u201cred monkey,\u201d the works render visible states of alienation, anxiety, and the silent negotiation involved in seeking inner equilibrium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <em>Escaping the Crowd<\/em>, the individual withdraws from an overwhelming environment, suggesting a desire for space, repair, and self-preservation within a condition of sensory excess. <em>The Outsider<\/em> captures a sense of dislocation\u2014being situated within density yet without belonging\u2014foregrounding the futility of seeking connection from within a state of estrangement. In <em>The Waves of Anxiety<\/em>, surging tides operate as a metaphor for pressure, articulating a cyclical psychological turbulence that persistently engulfs the individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Executed through a combination of watercolour, coloured pencil, charcoal, and monoprint techniques, the series reveals moments of vulnerability that remain obscured beneath the surface of everyday life for those experiencing social anxiety. These works function not only as attentive renderings of individual conditions, but also as a quiet resonance with broader contemporary affective experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div The narrative begins with the protagonist\u2019s discovery of a glossy pink mirror within the ruins, which becomes a threshold for a drifting passage across fragmented temporalities. The artist\u2019s subjectivity interweaves past and present within the site, employing a synthesis of live-action footage and AI-generated imagery to project an interior emotional landscape onto physical space, constructing an alternative dimension that invites the viewer\u2019s entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">In <em>Silent Pendulum<\/em>, the work articulates a fissure in which the virtual and the real co-exist. The accompanying installation extends this condition through a dialogue between interior and exterior spatial registers, activated by the shifting relationship between positive and negative space. Suspended mirrors oscillate like pendulums, each movement revealing glimpses of an alternate spatial order. From prehistoric caves where the torso served as an extension of nature, to the pursuit of &#8220;divine order&#8221; and ideal beauty in Ancient Greece, the body has perpetually carried the weight of an eternal essence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Lin\u2019s work is not a reconstruction of the classical, but an exploration of &#8220;how imagery deconstructs the subject.&#8221; As Renaissance anatomy peeled back the skin and nineteenth-century photography captured death and motion, the body was stripped of its divinity, relegated to material substance in the mechanical age, and infinitely replicated and symbolized within the torrent of mass media. In this shifting perspective, the once-solid self begins to falter, replaced by a profound reflection on the act of &#8220;gazing&#8221; itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this current creation, he places the physiological male body at the core, embarking on an emotional archaeology of the &#8220;male gaze directed at the masculine form.&#8221; When gender symbols are stripped away, does a fracture emerge between the pure flesh and subjectivity? This inquiry is not intended to establish a gender binary; rather, it seeks to restore a discursive space for the &#8220;human&#8221; that precedes the &#8220;gendered.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the interweaving of photography and moving images, combined with field research and site-specific intervention, Lin\u2019s practice achieves a depth of engagement with reality. Combining natural wood, silver, and textile materials, she merges traditional jewellery craftsmanship with interdisciplinary approaches to create wearable \u201cmicro-sculptures.\u201d Her practice engages with the fluidity of gender, body, and identity, while also considering the \u201ctree\u201d as a metaphor for memory\u2014its rings, textures, fractures, and repairs echoing the trajectories of human growth.
