Her doctoral research focuses on digital death in virtual worlds, integrating theories of cultural studies, avatar identity, and digital existentialism. She proposes a typology of digital death to clarify the complexity of virtual loss, offering a conceptual framework to support creators and researchers working in related fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her academic works have been published in international peer-reviewed journals, and her creative and research works have received multiple international awards in the art and design field. She participated in the 2023 Chengdu World Science Fiction Convention as part of the art and design program and has presented her research at major international conferences, including the Asian Conference on Arts &amp; Humanities 2023 (Tokyo) and the Paris Conference on Arts &amp; Humanities 2022 (Paris).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u7b26\u68a6\u5e0c\u7684\u4f5c\u54c1\u4ee5\u201c\u6570\u5b57\u751f\u547d\u4e0e\u81ea\u6211\u6d88\u4ea1\u201d\u7684\u5fc3\u7406\u5173\u7cfb\u4e3a\u6838\u5fc3\u3002\u5728\u5979\u6784\u5efa\u7684\u8bed\u5883\u4e2d\uff0c\u5316\u8eab\uff08Avatar\uff09\u4e0d\u518d\u4ec5\u4ec5\u662f\u865a\u6784\u7684\u4ee3\u7801\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u4eba\u7c7b\u8eab\u4efd\u5728\u865a\u62df\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e2d\u7684\u5ef6\u4f38\uff0c\u627f\u8f7d\u7740\u81ea\u6211\u8868\u8fbe\u4e0e\u793e\u4ea4\u8054\u7ed3\u7684\u91cd\u53e0\u610f\u8c61\u3002\u5316\u8eab\u7684\u201c\u6d88\u5931\u201d\u5e76\u975e\u7b80\u5355\u7684\u7a0b\u5e8f\u7ec8\u6b62\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u5177\u6709\u5b58\u5728\u4e3b\u4e49\u8272\u5f69\u7684\u843d\u5e55\uff0c\u4e0e\u73b0\u5b9e\u4e2a\u4f53\u7684\u901d\u53bb\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u4e00\u79cd\u4e92\u6587\u5f0f\u7684\u5171\u632f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u5728\u300a\u96ea\u68a8\u7684\u846c\u4eea\u5c4b\uff1a\u6570\u5b57\u7eaa\u5ff5\u6d3b\u52a8\u300b\u4e2d\uff0c\u5979\u5c06 VR \u7a7a\u95f4\u8f6c\u5316\u4e3a\u4e00\u5ea7\u8d5b\u535a\u65f6\u4ee3\u7684\u544a\u522b\u4e4b\u6240\u3002\u8fd9\u65e2\u662f\u4e00\u573a\u827a\u672f\u884c\u4e3a\u8868\u6f14\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u4e00\u6b21\u5173\u4e8e\u6570\u5b57\u8eab\u4efd\u4e0e\u60bc\u5ff5\u884c\u4e3a\u7684\u4eba\u7c7b\u5b66\u8003\u5bdf\u3002\u901a\u8fc7\u5728 VRChat \u4e2d\u5b9a\u671f\u4e3e\u529e\u865a\u62df\u846c\u793c\uff0c\u5979\u4e3a\u90a3\u4e9b\u66fe\u88ab\u5bc4\u4e88\u60c5\u611f\u7684\u5316\u8eab\u5efa\u7acb\u6863\u6848\uff0c\u5728\u6c89\u6d78\u5f0f\u7684\u54c0\u60bc\u4eea\u5f0f\u4e2d\u89c2\u5bdf\u3001\u8bb0\u5f55\u5e76\u8bbf\u8c08\uff0c\u6355\u6349\u90a3\u4e9b\u5728\u6bd4\u7279\u4e16\u754c\u4e2d\u6d41\u52a8\u7684\u4f24\u611f\u4e0e\u6e29\u60c5\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u8fd9\u4e9b\u6d3b\u52a8\u4e0d\u662f\u5728\u6a21\u62df\u6b7b\u4ea1\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u5728\u63a2\u8ba8\u201c\u5b58\u5728\u5982\u4f55\u88ab\u5b9a\u4e49\u201d\u3002\u6b63\u5982\u963f\u66fc\u8fbe\u00b7\u62c9\u683c\u594e\u65af\u7279\u6240\u8a00\uff0c\u5b58\u5728\u662f\u6709\u9650\u4e14\u7ec8\u5c06\u6d88\u901d\u7684\uff0c\u800c\u8eab\u4f53\u662f\u8fde\u63a5\u81ea\u6211\u4e0e\u4e16\u754c\u7684\u951a\u70b9\u3002\u5f53\u865a\u62df\u8eaf\u58f3\u5728\u5149\u5f71\u4e2d\u74e6\u89e3\uff0c\u4eba\u7c7b\u5bf9\u4e8e\u201c\u6c38\u6052\u201d\u7684\u5e7b\u60f3\u88ab\u6253\u7834\uff0c\u53d6\u800c\u4ee3\u4e4b\u7684\u662f\u5bf9\u6570\u5b57\u5b58\u5728\u4e4b\u8106\u5f31\u3001\u6df1\u523b\u4e14\u771f\u5b9e\u7684\u51dd\u89c6\u3002<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fu Mengxi\u2019s practice centres on the psychological relationship between digital life and self-extinction. Within the context she constructs, the avatar is no longer merely a fictional assemblage of code, but an extension of human identity within virtual space\u2014carrying overlapping functions of self-expression and social connection. The \u201cdisappearance\u201d of the avatar is not simply a technical termination, but a moment imbued with existential resonance, forming an intertextual echo with the passing of the physical self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<em>Snowy\u2019s Funeral Parlour: Digital Memorial Events<\/em>, she reconfigures VR space into a site of departure within a cybernetic condition. The project operates simultaneously as a performative artwork and as an anthropological inquiry into digital identity and practices of mourning. Through the regular staging of virtual funerals within VRChat, she constructs an archive for avatars that have been invested with emotional significance. Within these immersive rituals of mourning, she observes, documents, and conducts interviews, tracing forms of grief and tenderness that circulate within networked environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These activities do not seek to simulate death, but to question how existence is defined. As noted by Amanda Lagerkvist, existence is finite and oriented towards disappearance, while the body functions as an anchor between the self and the world.
