Luobai is an illustrator and researcher working across picturebooks, visual<\/p>\n\n\n\n

storytelling, and wellbeing. She is an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts London, and her work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in the UK, Europe, and Asia, including her 2025 solo exhibition, \u201cAnxiety is a Red Monkey,\u201d at the Doctoral School, University of the Arts London. As an invited artist speaker at Cartoon County, Brighton, she delivered a talk on visualising mental illness in comics. Her self-published picturebooks on anxiety disorders\u2014Befriending the Red Monkey and The Solitary Island with the Red Monkey\u2014were sold by GOSH! Comics and are acquired by both the UAL Library and the Wellcome Library. She also organised the \u201cDraw Your Own Monster\u201d workshop for Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2023, combining mindfulness and character design to support emotional expression.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u73de\u767d\u7684\u7cfb\u5217\u63d2\u753b\u2014\u2014\u300a\u9003\u79bb\u4eba\u7fa4\u300b\u3001\u300a\u5c40\u5916\u4eba\u300b\u4e0e\u300a\u7126\u8651\u4e4b\u6d6a\u300b\uff0c\u6e90\u81ea\u7ed8\u672c\u300a\u7ea2\u7334\u5b50\u7684\u5b64\u5c9b\u300b\uff082023\uff09\u3002\u4ed6\u4ee5\u201c\u5b64\u5c9b\u201d\u4e0e\u201c\u7ea2\u7334\u5b50\u201d\u4e3a\u6838\u5fc3\u610f\u8c61\uff0c\u5c06\u758f\u79bb\u3001\u7126\u8651\u4ee5\u53ca\u5bfb\u627e\u5185\u5728\u5e73\u8861\u7684\u65e0\u58f0\u6323\u624e\u5177\u8c61\u5316\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u300a\u9003\u79bb\u4eba\u7fa4\u300b\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e2a\u4f53\u4ece\u538b\u5012\u6027\u7684\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u62bd\u79bb\uff0c\u8c61\u5f81\u7740\u5728\u8fc7\u5ea6\u523a\u6fc0\u7684\u4e16\u754c\u91cc\u5bf9\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u4fee\u590d\u4e0e\u81ea\u6211\u4fdd\u62a4\u7684\u6e34\u6c42\u3002\u300a\u5c40\u5916\u4eba\u300b\u5219\u6355\u6349\u4e86\u90a3\u79cd\u8eab\u5904\u95f9\u5e02\u5374\u65e0\u5904\u5f52\u4f9d\u7684\u65ad\u88c2\u611f\uff0c\u5f3a\u8c03\u4e86\u758f\u79bb\u72b6\u6001\u4e0b\u5bf9\u8054\u7ed3\u7684\u5f92\u52b3\u8ffd\u5bfb\u3002\u800c\u5728\u300a\u7126\u8651\u7684\u6d77\u6d6a\u300b\u91cc\uff0c\u7ffb\u6d8c\u7684\u5de8\u6d6a\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u538b\u529b\u7684\u5316\u8eab\uff0c\u63cf\u7ed8\u51fa\u90a3\u79cd\u5468\u800c\u590d\u59cb\u3001\u4e0d\u65ad\u51b2\u5237\u4e2a\u4f53\u7684\u5fc3\u7406\u52a8\u8361\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4f5c\u54c1\u7efc\u5408\u8fd0\u7528\u4e86\u6c34\u5f69\u3001\u5f69\u8272\u94c5\u7b14\u3001\u70ad\u7b14\u4e0e\u5355\u7248\u62d3\u5370\uff0c\u63ed\u793a\u4e86\u793e\u4ea4\u7126\u8651\u8005\u9690\u85cf\u5728\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\u8868\u8c61\u4e0b\u7684\u8106\u5f31\u77ac\u95f4\u3002\u8fd9\u4e0d\u4ec5\u662f\u5bf9\u4e2a\u4f53\u72b6\u6001\u7684\u7ec6\u81f4\u4e34\u6479\uff0c\u66f4\u662f\u5bf9\u5f53\u4ee3\u60c5\u611f\u7ecf\u9a8c\u7684\u4e00\u6b21\u9759\u9ed8\u56de\u54cd\u3002

This series of three illustrations\u2014Escaping the Crowd, An Outsider, and Waves of Anxiety\u2014comes from the picture book The Solitary Island of the Red Monkey(2023). Each piece uses the recurring motifs of the \u201cisland\u201d and the \u201cred monkey\u201d to visualise the emotional landscape of isolation, anxiety, and the quiet struggle for inner balance.Escaping the Crowd depicts a figure withdrawing from overwhelming surroundings, symbolising the need for space, recovery, and self-protection in overstimulating environments.An Outsider captures the feeling of being surrounded yet unable to belong, emphasising experiences of detachment and the search for connection.Waves of Anxiety portrays tension through surging waves, giving form to the cycles of pressure and emotional turbulence that repeatedly wash over the individual.Created with mixed drawing materials (38 \u00d7 24 cm, 2023), including<\/p>\n\n\n\n
